I am deep into Fall Back Into You, the next installment in the Cook County series.

Alex Hartman and Melanie Goodwin were the perfect couple until Alex received a recording contract that changed both of their lives.

Thirteen years later, he's back in Cook County and looking for a second chance with the only real thing he ever had.

The first year of "Shylyn Ray" wasn't too bad. I didn't have any "new" new books, but the rereleases had enough new material to feel like new work.

I had some setbacks during the year, including a major medical issue, so I didn't get anything out toward the end of the year like I'd hoped, but the general response to the Cook County relaunch has been positive.

I don't have any release dates for you at this time. With health issues and stress in general, I'm going to go easier on myself this year. No preorders and no deadlines I try to kill myself to beat, but I will be writing consistently and publishing as much as possible.

If all goes well, I'm hoping to have 1-2 new Cook County books and at least one book released in a new series. Maybe more. Maybe less. My body has a way of laughing in my face when I get too lofty with my aspirations so I'm not promising anything. I'mjust going to try my best to give you as many new pretty things as possible this year. Signing up for my newsletter or following me on Bookbub is always the best way to make sure you never miss a new book announcement.

I hope the new year brings you much joy and success. And if I do take too long to release something new, Amber Leigh Williams has THREE new releases coming out this year and she's amazing. Maisey Yates is awesome too and she's a publishing powerhouse so I highly recommend reading them while waiting for the next Cook County book. They are my go-to authors for contemporary romance with rugged heroes.

Happy Reading y'all!

Rain aka Shylyn Ray.
